Lynn Miles is a wonderful songwriter, and a subtle and sensitive
singer, with a very nice voice. The characters and situations she
covers in her songs are very real, frequently addressing the many sides
of romance -- and many moments will ring with familiarity.
The Canadian has been an active touring performer for at least a
decade, and is on the roster of the very classy Rounder Records.
While probably a bigger name in the Great White North, she has recently
toured England and Scotland, and now lives in La La Land.

We first discovered Lynn Miles through her Slightly
Haunted CD four or five years ago and
have always loved it; it's on "heavy rotation" at our house,
despite the tough competition. Lynn hails originally from Ottawa,
has toured all over North America and Europe, and now is based in Los
Angeles.
One reason we find Lynn's music so
compelling is that her lyrics are clever, wry, and insightful, her voice
is gorgeous, and her melodies stick with us. Her arrangements run
from rock to rootsy, and her talent and originality shine brightly.
As one critic puts it, "Miles delivers it all with an everywoman
expressiveness in a voice that's a combination of Lucinda Williams and
Shawn Colvin."

Not only are Lynn's critically-acclaimed CDs
wonderful to listen to, but she is a very engaging performer. We first saw
Lynn in a showcase at Folk Alliance '97 in Toronto and thought what a fine
performer she would be to introduce to our friends. We saw her again last
month in Vancouver and made our pitch. Fortunately, she was due to be in
the DC area within a couple of months, and we were able to set-up this
"quick response" house concert.
Lynn latest CD, Unravel, was released
in May. Visit her web site for more
information, or to order CDs
