Who we are

The Sleepy Hollow Folk Club is a house concert venue in Northern Virginia, about 10 miles from downtown D.C.  Approximately four to six times a year, we host in our home live performances by accomplished musicians -- usually singer-songwriters -- from all over North America.

Beginning with 11 friends in our living room in the cold winter of 1996, our performances have moved with us into the "stereo room" in our new house, and our audiences run from 30 to 50+ guests. We are an informal, non-commercial venue.  We host our concerts to help support "folk" and "singer-songwriter" musicians and to provide our audiences with the chance to hear, and meet, these talented performers in an intimate, comfortable setting.

The music broadly falls within the contemporary folk and singer-songwriter categories, although we're open to other styles.

Who we’re not

We are not a business. All donations for tickets go to the performers.  Also, although we are happy to offer a place for musicians to play and to display their CDs, T-shirts, mailing lists, and the like, we don’t stock or sell our performers’ CDs after their shows are over. You will need to buy their CDs at a music store, on-line, or from the performers themselves; we’ll be happy to give you their contact information.

Mascots

Our feline mascots are Mausele, Nougat, and Skye Macbeth.    All have short hair and are not constant shedders, but if you're allergic to cats, you may want to take your medicine before you come.

Nougat often prefers to watch from the cabinet tops -- watch for her acrobatics.  She has become a bit more discriminating in her appearances.

Here Nougat is helping us answer some of the many emails we've received about upcoming shows - don't worry, she reads all of them.

Mausele usually enjoys working the crowd.  Lately trying to get in on the act.

Skye, our newest addition, has become the most active participant in the House Concerts.  He'll typically be found - everywhere!

Here he is (below), in a rare moment of inactivity, resting up for the next  show.
